Eric Plotts

Eric was born into a very musical family, and has been surrounded by music ever since. Therefore, it was only a matter of time before he tried it out for himself. His first musical memory is sitting at the piano, teaching himself the “Top Gun Anthem” by ear, which led to piano lessons, guitar lessons by the age of 5, and eventually learning oboe in middle school. Eric played a combination of these instruments for various middle and high school bands.

Eric later attended UW-Eau Claire, where he played as an oboist in the Wind Ensemble and Symphony Band, and as a guitarist in their Jazz Ensembles. During this time, Eric began an 8 year summer tenure as a guitarist at Valleyfair Amusement Park.  While attending UWEC, he had the opportunity to perform with several guest artists and conductors, including Byron Stripling and Maria Schneider. He also took part in the recording of two UWEC Jazz Ensemble albums.<br

In 2006, Eric moved to the Twin Cities and transferred to McNally Smith College of Music, where he received a Bachelor of Music degree in Guitar Performance. It was here where Eric focused entirely on guitar. He has performed with such artists as Nachito Herrera, The Steele Family Singers and Sheila E. as well as performing with various local bands, artists, and churches. Upon his graduation, he was also selected to perform in a music outreach production by Craig Rice and Andre Fischer.  Eric has been performing with Synergy in 2011.
